Santa Barbara, CA, December 11, 2013 – InTouch Health today announced that more than 815 U.S. hospitals have now selected the InTouch® Telemedicine System to power their Acute Care Telemedicine (ACT) clinical services bringing the total installed base to nearly 15% of all U.S. hospital locations. An additional 120 centers in the global markets have also chosen InTouch as their ACT solutions provider of choice. ACT is an emerging model of care for hospitals and populations that lack timely and affordable access to specialists. The leading clinical application for InTouch Health’s ACT solutions is TeleStroke and the Company supports 17 of 50 U.S. News and World Report’s 2014 Best Hospitals for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and 19 of 58 Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers. InTouch Health has partnered with leading hospitals to plan, implement and grow sustainable clinical programs for more than 80 TeleStroke networks comprising 550+ hospitals, more than the rest of the TeleStroke market combined.
In further support of its ACT and TeleStroke solutions, InTouch Health’s Clinical Services organization has completed the Advanced Stroke Life Support® (ASLS) practicum through the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. InTouch Health is now the only TeleStroke solutions provider certified as an accredited ASLS training center. The Company has taken this step to further broaden its TeleStroke expertise and to align its clinical services to better meet the stroke training standards and requirements of its hospital clients as they strive to meet stroke center certification and best clinical practices.
