Executive Leadership

Yulun Wang, PhD, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, in 2002 established InTouch Technologies (d.b.a. InTouch Health), a company that has since received numerous recognitions and awards for its technological innovations and contributions to the healthcare industry. In 2008, InTouch Health received Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 Award as one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America. That same year Inc. Magazine also recognized InTouch Health as one of the 500 fastest growing companies and one of the Top 100 Health Companies in America with the Inc. 500 Award. Dr. Wang launched his career at the intersection of healthcare and technology with the founding of Computer Motion, the company that pioneered the use of surgical robots. He was the principal architect and inventor of AESOP, the first FDA-cleared surgical robot. Under Dr. Wang's leadership Computer Motion went public in 1997 and merged with Intuitive Surgical in 2003 for one third of the resulting company. In 2011, Dr. Wang was elected to the prestigious ranks of the National Academy of Engineering, an achievement earned through a career dedicated to improving healthcare delivery through science and engineering. In 2007 the University of California, Santa Barbara awarded Dr. Wang with the Venky Narayanamurti Entrepreneurial Leadership Award. He has authored over 40 publications and holds over 70 patents in the areas of robotics and computers. Dr. Wang is a member of the University of California, Santa Barbara's Electrical & Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board, the Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian Board of Directors, and the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) Board of Directors. He currently serves as the Treasurer of ATA. Dr. Wang is frequently invited to speak at noteworthy meetings and events, has appeared on the Today Show, CNN, and various other televised interviews. Dr. Wang earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering specializing in Robotics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

David Adornetto, Chief Operating Officer, has more than 20 years of healthcare industry and senior management experience. Mr. Adornetto served as CFO, EVP of Operations for InTouch Technologies, from July 2006 to October 2011, before being appointed Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining InTouch, he was Executive Vice President of Operations at Mentor Corporation, a publically held medical device manufacturer of Urology and Aesthetics Medicine products. Over his 14-year tenure at Mentor he served in various senior management capacities including Vice President of Strategic Planning and Operational Development, and Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining Mentor, Mr. Adornetto was employed by Deloitte & Touche as a senior auditor. He is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Stephen L. Wilson, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, has over 35 years of experience, including 20 years in the medical technology industry, and has been a Chief Financial Officer of publicly held or pre-public med-tech companies since 1990. Mr. Wilson was the Chief Financial Officer of St. Jude Medical, Inc., which transitioned from $150 million to $1 billion in revenue during his tenure at the company from 1990 to 1997. As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, he played a key role in the initial public offerings of both Computer Motion, Inc., in 1997, which subsequently merged with Intuitive Surgical, Inc., and Sonic Innovations, Inc., in 2000, which grew from a pre-revenue to $125 million revenue company during his tenure. Most recently, Mr. Wilson was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Den-Mat Holdings, LLC.

Paul Evans, General Counsel & Executive Vice President, has over 19 years of experience in intellectual property, licensing, corporate governance, and corporate transactions including M&A activities. Mr. Evans served as an integral member of the executive management team at Specialized Health Products International (SHPI), as the General Counsel and VP of Business Development. He helped transition SHPI from a development stage to a profitable, publically traded company. Mr. Evans managed SHPI's extensive portfolio of over 400 issued patents and pending patent applications worldwide and led the patent strategy and negotiations culminating in a franchise with 58% of the U.S. market share in its category. Mr. Evans was previously a patent attorney at Stoel Rives, LLC, and Snow, Christensen & Martineau. Mr. Evans received an MBA and BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah, and his law degree at the University of Utah College of Law.

Steve Jordan, Executive Vice President, Research & Development, has more than 20 years of R&D experience and has developed over 25 robotic systems, including those created at Computer Motion, where these were the world’s first commercial medical robotic systems. Mr. Jordan also led the project at Computer Motion that developed and brought to market the world’s first voice controlled operating room control system. He has over a dozen patents in the field of robotics, and has extensive experience designing products, managing development teams, driving product development and completing products on schedule and within budget. Mr. Jordan’s core expertise is in digital system design for robotic controls, but he also has extensive experience in software development and mechanism design. Mr. Jordan earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Michael Chan, General Manager, International, & Executive Vice President, Marketing, has more than 20 years of global business, sales and marketing, product development and operations experience in the medical device and healthcare markets. Mr. Chan joined InTouch Health's founding management team at its inception in January 2002. Prior to InTouch, Mr. Chan was vice president of marketing at TheraCardia, pioneers of a new procedure to treat cardiac arrest. He was also an early-stage employee and held various senior management positions at Computer Motion, Inc. (1997 Nasdaq IPO and 2003 Intuitive Surgical merger), PhotoAccess Corp. (acquired by Agilent Technologies) and Andronic Devices Ltd. (acquired by MDS Health). Mr. Chan also held marketing and program management positions at Stryker Corporation's orthopedic surgery division. Mr. Chan earned a bachelor of applied science in bio-resource engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Andy Puterbaugh, General Manager, US Markets, brings more than 26 years of healthcare experience in both private and public companies. Mr. Puterbaugh joined InTouch Health in August 2008 and served as Area Vice President for the Western U.S. which included 18 States. Under his leadership, the West produced top sales results, demonstrated strong revenue performance and executed a coordinated approach to team selling strategies which produced highly satisfied customers. Prior to InTouch Health, Mr. Puterbaugh was Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Cogent Healthcare, a Nashville-based Hospitalist organization. Mr. Puterbaugh has been part of several start-up/early stage healthcare companies including the early years of KCI (NYSE: KCI). Mr. Puterbaugh is a graduate of Purdue University.

Tim Wright, Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Product Marketing, has over 15 years of healthcare industry experience in marketing, strategy, new product development and healthcare operations management. Prior to joining InTouch Health in 2002, Mr. Wright was regional general manager for Sunbridge Healthcare and ManorCare Health Services with responsibility for skilled nursing and assisted living facilities across several western states. Prior to these assignments, he directed marketing, corporate strategy and new product development at ManorCare and Marriott International. Most notably, Mr. Wright led the strategic development of ManorCare's sub-acute market offering branded MedBridge, and at Marriott led a team which created an entirely new lodging market segmentation resulting in the launch of a new luxury tier product and the repositioning of an existing brand. Earlier in his career he performed strategy consulting projects for major corporations such as General Electric, Circuit City Stores, and Tupperware International. Mr. Wright earned an MBA from the Darden School, University of Virginia and a BA from the University of Washington.

Gerry Popolow, RN, Vice President, Clinical Strategy, has more than 25 years of healthcare experience in executive management and consulting positions. Ms. Popolow has served in leadership roles at Cedars-Sinai, University of California, San Francisco, Abington Memorial Hospital and Computer Motion. She has developed and consulted in the development of clinical service lines such as cardiac, neurosurgery and spine services. Her clinical and technology experience includes clinical and surgical robotics, critical care, surgical services and emergency services. Ms. Popolow earned a bachelor of nursing science degree from California State University and a master’s of nursing science degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She is a Wharton Nurse Executive Fellow and is an active member of national and state healthcare and clinical professional organizations.

Charlie Huiner, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, has over 19 years of experience in business development, strategy, and enterprise level sales & marketing, the last nine of which focused in the medical technology field. Mr. Huiner was most recently Vice President of Healthcare Enterprise Solutions at InTouch, leading the planning, solution development and marketing/sales strategy to successfully launch the Company's surgical collaboration and training offering in B2B markets. Prior to joining InTouch, Mr Huiner was Vice President of Corporate Development at Isolagen, Inc., having responsibility for business development, corporate finance, investor relations and corporate communications. Before Isolagen, Mr. Huiner had similar responsibilities as Senior Director, Corporate Development and Strategy, at Inamed Corporation (acquired by Allergan, 2006). Mr. Huiner has also held business development and management positions at Bordeaux Capital, Security Capital Group (acquired by GE Capital, 2002), PhatPipe, Inc and ProLogis. Mr. Huiner began his career as an M&A analyst for NatWest USA. Mr. Huiner received his MBA in marketing and finance with a concentration in healthcare management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School and his BA from Williams College.

Greg Brallier, Vice President, Technical Service & Hosted Applications, has more than 15 years of experience in network design and administration, webmastering and programming. Mr. Brallier has extensive knowledge in network installation, configuration and administration of large-scale WiFi and Ethernet networks. As an experienced webmaster, he established and maintained Internet, Intranet and Extranet Websites. He developed and implemented database architectures and schemas for remote monitoring of computer-driven devices. An early-stage employee at Computer Motion, Inc., Mr. Brallier worked for 11 years as Director of Information Systems. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Gary Douville, Vice President, Operations, has 15 years of experience in product development, Six Sigma quality and manufacturing operations in the commercial and defense industries. Mr. Douville was recently the General Manager of a Textron Systems unit acquired by Textron in 2006. He managed the integration and led the organization through significant growth during which sophisticated sensor-based systems were developed for Homeland Security, US Army, and commercial helicopter customers. Prior to this role, Mr. Douville was the Six Sigma Master Black Belt for Textron Systems where he led a number of design, process improvement and lean manufacturing projects. He began his career at General Electric as a design engineer, project leader, Six Sigma Black Belt and program manager on a variety of product development efforts. Mr. Douville earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MS in Management of Technology and Innovation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Textron Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He is also a graduate of the General Electric Technical Leadership Program and the author of 10 patents.
